What is the NuScale SMR design and how will it be developed within INL boundaries?

NuScale has designed and developed a small modular reactor (SMR) to produce electrical energy while at the same time using mass produced parts that are faster to replicate, replace and more inexpensive. Plans are currently underway for the implementation of NuScale's SMRs at DOE's Idaho site. Because there are so many details to cover regarding this new project we have dedicated an entire FAQ section to INL's SMR initiative that is available here.

What does Partnership for Science & Technology do?

We are the only regional organization established to promote public interest and the wise use of federal resources. PST gives a unified voice to the science and technology efforts in our region by leading public dialogue on critical issues while facilitating the development of technology driven projects. We have led numerous comment delegations to Washington DC to fight for research investment, to advocate for contractor reform, to improve government efficiency, and to ensure responsible clean up funding.
